This project Title Sequence really displayed the skills I have learned in motion design. This project was my final project in Motion Design and really showed off what I have been learning with each prior project we did. The requirements for this project were to choose a classic tv or movie in the list we were given which features The Fugitive, Adam 12, Bewitched, M*A*S*H, Close Encounters of the Third Kind, Gloria, When Harry Met Sally, and The Bird Cage. When looking over and researching most of these options I came to the decision to do Adam 12 a police procedural crime drama television series following Los Angeles Police officers Pete Malloy and Jim Reed as they patrol Los Angles. The next step for this project was to find a new completely different genera and/or theme for the show while also creating a 1-page plot summary. The genera and theme I chose was a western comedy. Which fit the show really well since I could keep the same type of premise but now it's a western and a buddy cop type show and less of a serious crime show. Now the main thing I had to look for this project was royalty free videos that can be found from Pexel's and Pixabay. The problem I ran into during this project was finding videos that would display my vision for this project. I was able to find many videos that worked well together through and since I wanted this project to fit the theme of an old western tv series I made many changes to the videos I found adding a black/white filterer and slowing down the videos or speeding them up to fit the theme. Overall, this project really shows off what I have learned throughout Motion Design.
Plot Summary
Adam 12 (western comedy)
Set in the wild west in a small town, Adam 12 follows sheriff Pete Malloy and his deputy Jim Reed as they protect their small town. The plot of the show follows Pete and Jim as they handle various situations in the wild west that they have sworn to do or handle for the safety of their town. Ranging from comedic incidents such as bandits, standoffs, bank robberies, saloon mischief, saving the town folk, catching an outlaw, meeting with the Indian tribe, and helping those in need or for their most common assignments helping out the town folk, catching a card game or two and having a drink at the saloon and just talking with the town folk of little Vill trying to help out where ever they can. Pete Malloy has become the 12th sheriff of the town of little Vill (Called that for being such a small town having only a saloon, Sheriff's office, post office, bank, a couple of houses, doctor, and shop) and works at the Adam sheriff department named after the first sheriff of little Vill. Without a sheriff for so long Pete believes he can make a difference in this town as the sheriff, but he will have to do it with the town's deputy Jim Reed the great grandson of Adam Reed (the original sheriff). Pete and Jim both have vastly different personalities while Pete is a professional gun slinger of the west Jim is a simple guy who has no idea what he is doing but has all the luck he needs. Adam 12 follows Pete and Jim as they go on various misadventures saving the day and locking the bandits up behind bars for them only to escape when they take a nap. There is also a various cast of people like the mayor, mailman, bartender, banker and many other patrons and residents of little Vill. These two officers seem like a pair who would not become friends but as the show goes on, we can see these two although may be different are in reality best friends and both serve for the common good for the town. Since this is a comedy there will also be scenes of them at the saloon gambling or grabbing a drink to show they may not be the best people to be in charge always leading them into hilarious situations but in the end are the best sheriffs the towns got.
